Hut 26
Award winning architects AR Design Studio have designed a modular prefabricated cabin for the Hut 26 brand.
AR Design Studio was approached by Hut 26 with an ambitious brief to provide urban escape in beautiful countryside settings across the UK.
‘Born out of a passion and respect for the great outdoors, HUT26 sets a new benchmark in luxury eco cabins for the UK. Sustainable, relocatable - and built for all seasons. A beautifully-crafted solution for family, guests and commercial ventures.'
From this came the big idea to explore modular design, making these cabins adaptable to suit different sized parties and occasions. The three modules, the Signature, Rambler and Explorer (smallest to largest), include a variation of bedrooms, bathrooms and shared living/kitchen spaces at different scales. These can be connected and configured in multiple ways to create a contemporary holiday retreat, suiting the specific site and holiday maker’s needs.
For smaller scale hideaways, these can be constructed as garden rooms subject to planning consent. For larger Multi Hut ventures, Hut26 are presenting a commercial opportunity with an offering of 15 cabins and a club hut with shared facilities.
Taking this one step further, consideration of the method of construction was vital to implement a light touch on the site, preserving the existing quality of nature and habitats while maximising efficiency and adaptability for the user. Prefabricated ‘off-site’ construction was embraced, creating cabins that are designed to transform any location into a holiday destination. The modules can be easily transported on a lorry bed, configured and erected to construct cabins in remote locations.
Hut 26’s sustainable approach is encompassed within the cabins themselves, constructed from sustainable materials and reclaimed where possible. This ethos will be further manifested on their sites through energy generation, utilising the site existing attributes and encouraging an appreciation for what the outdoors has to offer.
The flexible nature of these modular prefabricated eco-cabins aspire to meet the needs of many, providing a unique escape where and when needed most.
The cabins are now available to purchase, with construction anticipated over various locations in Spring 2021. Hut26 are also in the process of securing sites, including an exciting venture on the River Test to attract younger fishers and ramblers.
