Portsmouth Rd

Portsmouth Road is a proposed development of four dwellings on a tight urban site, offering complex design challenges and opportunities. The site is organised around a traditional courtyard garden, with its bounding wall providing a sense of security and community to the dwellings occupants. Balanced upon this wall on two sides is a singular building form that makes up the main living spaces for the four homes. This form is then cut through to create private terraces that offer views into the neighbouring park and shared courtyard, as well as helping to define each dwelling in its own right.
