AR Design studio successfully gained planning permission in early 2018. Approached by the client, Macniven Quays Ltd, to develop plans for a six house development in Wiltshire.

The brief was to develop an underutilised site with a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bed units, maximising its potential whilst working within the multiple constraints of the site.

Consideration of overlooking, separation distances and light formed the outline plan, which was then further refined in collaboration with highways and landscape consultants.

The houses themselves reference a traditional form but have a contemporary touch achieved through the manipulation of materiality and detailing.
